Duties: We're looking for an Education Communications Specialist to support the work of the communications team in sharing CZI's education work with grantee partners, policy leaders, and the public. The ideal candidate has an exceptional grounding in the world of communications strategy, experience in policy and advocacy efforts, a love of people and the ability to craft creative messaging that will amplify the voices of our grantees and leadership team.
 
 
Some of the work will include:
Produce public-facing content under tight deadlines, including statements, messaging guidance, talking points, social media content, op-eds, and blog posts
      Develop briefing memos and talking points for education leadership speeches, presentations, media interviews and events
      Create, re-format and review materials and presentations, maintaining CZI brand and style rules and consistency with key messages
      Manage the CZI Education communications calendar and logistics for CZI Education event sponsorships
      Support the development of annual and project-based communications plans
      Communicate regularly with the CZI Education team to ensure alignment and transparency on the communications team's goals, tactics and progress, including sharing news coverage roundups
      Identify grantee and policy stories that are in line with the goals and mission of CZI's education work to share across CZI digital platforms
      Support the team in responding to media inquiries and managing media stories with reporters to ensure CZI's education work is accurately represented; coordinate speaking requests and general questions for CZI Education leadership
      Support the development and execution of a grantee communications strategy to keep current and potential grantee partners updated on the priorities and perspectives of CZI Education (i.e., webinars, newsletters)
      Plan communications events and engagements with advisory boards and policy leaders (e.g., bus tours, reporter roundtables, sponsorship events, etc.) and work with the policy team to plan key meetings and school visits for traveling senior leaders
 
 
Skills:
5-7 years of full-time professional communications experience that includes project management responsibilities Communications experience working with nonprofits or government agencies in the areas of education, advocacy or community relations preferred
