Description/Comment: Summary:

• Write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions.
• Responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.

Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree - preferred.
• Two to four years relevant experience with previous technical writing experience required.

Skills and Competencies:

• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills .
• Ability to work independently and manage one's time. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.
• Knowledge of media production, communication and dissemination techniques and methods.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
• Knowledge of computer software, such as MS Word, MS PowerPoint, etc.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology.
• Maintain records and files of work and revisions.
• Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication.

Additional Job Details: Summary:

• This position will create service information for various Cat products.
• This position will be responsible for creating the following documents in a non-traditional authoring approach: Operation and Maintenance, Specifications, System Operations, Testing and Adjusting, Schematics, and Troubleshooting.
• Associates degree in automotive tech, engineering or related mechanical technologies required.

• Advanced ability to make sketches, engineering drawings and common computations.

• Previous authoring or graphics experience preferred.

Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Research, design, develop, manufacture, and test tools, engines, machines and other mechanical devices.
• Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
• Investigate equipment failures and difficulties to diagnose faulty operation and make recommendation to maintenance crew.
• Oversee installation, operation, maintenance and repair to ensure that machines and equipment are installed and functioning according to specifications.
• Implement operating procedures, resolve system malfunctions, and provide technical information.
