Job Description:
• Telecommunication is looking for a motivated, talented Sr. Web Copywriter with eCommerce, digital promotions or digital advertising copywriting expertise, who help bring the Un-carrier brand voice to life on
• The Web Copywriter works directly with Web marketing, Web merchandising, visual designers, product managers, and other creative team members.
• This person will be responsible for original copy creation across a variety of media such as Telecommunication owned websites, partner websites, sales promotions, affiliate programs, e-mails, landing pages, and user experience copy.
• This person will edit, write, and enhance copy to meet established tone, style, and brand guidelines. At least six years of online brand, promotional merchandising or eCommerce copywriting experience is required.
• Experience writing about the wireless industry or mobile products is desired, and technical writing experience is a plus.
• However, the candidate must first and foremost possess strong brand advertising, promotional and Web copywriting skills.
Essential Functions:
• Candidate must be well-versed in writing for the Web, eCommerce and digital marketing
• Write new product copy and additional site copy (UI instructional and content) as needed
• Work on multiple projects, both small and large, with various business owners
• Must possess a strong understanding of following brand creative principals, and can quickly understand brand personality and tonality, as it relates to their copywriting endeavors
• Working understanding of search engine optimization (SEO) and impactful writing using targeted keywords
• Strong attention to detail
• Manage deadlines, able to produce quick turn-around if necessary
• Strong knowledge of mechanics of writing, punctuation, and spelling
• Excellent written/verbal and presentation skills to clearly present creative work and articulate creative rationale when warranted
• Collaborate with creative team and internal partners in Web marketing, merchandising, eCommerce and product managers and designer to develop strong, copywriting deliverables that meet business objectives
• Write and edit engaging, relevant, original online copy that is always on brand
• Participate in strategic, creative brainstorming sessions that produce fresh ideas
• Ability to collaborate and receive feedback from multiple stakeholders, and an openness to feedback and input
Required Qualifications:
• 6 + years of online copywriting experience in design firm, advertising agency or corporate environment with rapid concepting and delivery timeframes.
• 2+ years' experience with online A/B testing
• Understanding of the capabilities and constraints of web technologies (content management systems, HTML, style sheets, etc) as well as writing best practices for search engine optimization (under the guidance of our Natural Search/SEO team)
• Experience in writing similar types of online content for established companies
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Comfortable presenting creative work/copy to both the creative team and project stakeholders
• Must be very good at managing your own time; able to prioritize multiple assignments and thrive under tight deadlines.
• Able to work effectively on a team, and have the ability to drive results across functional areas
• Strong attention to detail and timeliness is a must
• Strong conceptual skills and the ability to take responsibility
• Expert in Microsoft Word and experience with Microsoft Outlook required. PowerPoint experience a plus.
• Experience in eCommerce, retail, and sales with a working understanding of eCommerce marketing terminology.
