Telecommunication for Business, Unified Communications team is looking for a strategic, results-oriented Information Architect who has the ability to take practical, user-centric steps to achieve a cutting-edge vision of information/content management. The ideal candidate will display an uncompromising passion for reducing user effort and improving the effectiveness of our content.


The Information Architect will be responsible for:
Partnering with Product and Technology teams, content administrators, and end-users to assess the current content experience and determine immediate and long-term needs to support content use.
Designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality, multi-format outputs in many languages.
Researching and incorporating industry best practices and innovation into our information architecture (IA).
Developing and maintaining taxonomies, metadata models, conditionalization, and classification schemas across our content.
Managing an Information Model to evangelize best practices throughout the business.
Scoping the business requirements to select or build highly usable, software-based solutions to meet our needs.
Developing a roadmap that includes immediate, easy-win improvements but also ultimately leads to a revolutionary change in how we plan, store, process, manage, and access content.
Creating personas, wire-frames, process maps, data models, interaction models, and other artifacts to describe the intended user experience.
Leading usability studies to demonstrate concepts, test user-friendliness, and prove ROI.
Evaluating the effectiveness of installed solutions.
Evangelizing the need to adopt core information management tools as well as experiment with groundbreaking ideas.
Performing regular content audits to ensure compliance with IA standards and rid the system of old, unused, or duplicate data.
Providing critical alignment between Technology and Business processes governance.

Basic Qualifications
BS degree in Information Management, Content Management, or another relevant discipline
7 or more years of applicable work experience leveraging technology across many processes to enable automation
Demonstrated experience with HTML, XML, and SQL
Demonstrated analytical skills
Demonstrated Project/Program Management skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with enterprise-wide content management system (CMS)
Experience with information modeling, data diagramming, and content optimization
Experience in a data warehouse environment, which includes data design, data integration, database architecture, metadata, and reporting creation
Ability to translate business needs into long-term IA solutions
Experience designing, implementing, and managing ontologies
Experience building taxonomies, terminology databases, etc
Ability to present IA concepts and deliverables in a compelling and convincing manner
Preferred Qualifications
Masters' degree in Information Management
Experience in a large, matrixed organization
Ability to interact with and influence others effectively through teamwork and diplomacy
Solid understanding of SEO and social media
Familiarity with learning management systems
Experience running usability studies
Experience using open-source or commercial ontology management software
Experience with best practices in adaptive/responsive web design
Some background in technical writing
Some background in User Experience (UX)
Substantial experience using complex relational databasesar
