Reinventing Lifecycle Governance: From Spreadsheets to a Comprehensive Management Application

In high-tech services, managing the full lifecycle of a product or service affects how efficiently an organization can innovate, scale, and respond to market demands. When lifecycle processes depend on manual systems, teams can lack the visibility and consistent governance needed to coordinate complex offerings. The result can be disconnected workflows, delays, and missed opportunities to improve delivery.

That was the situation for a global leader in enterprise connectivity and infrastructure. Despite operating in an innovation-driven market, the organization relied on spreadsheets to manage internal service and product lifecycles. It needed a centralized application that could bring structure and accountability to service creation while evolving with the business.

The Challenge

When Spreadsheets Could No Longer Support Scale

The Challenge

The client’s service lifecycle process relied on outdated spreadsheets, resulting in disjointed workflows, limited visibility into real-time data, and no enforceable accountability for project managers. As its catalog of services and products grew more complex, the need for a modern, trackable, and integrated governance model also increased.

Without automation or a single source of truth, it was difficult to manage timelines, dependencies, and compliance needs. These limitations slowed innovation and put customer satisfaction at risk. The organization needed more than a digital copy of its spreadsheets: it needed a purpose-built solution that could improve governance and productivity while supporting the long-term evolution of its services.

The Solution

Engineering an Agile Service Lifecycle Portal

The Solution

Aditi partnered with the client to co-create a custom web-based portal designed to bring structure, accountability, and agility to service lifecycle governance. The work focused on replacing fragmented manual tracking with a centralized application that could support service creation and scale with the organization’s wider service catalog.

  • Purpose-built delivery model: Aditi deployed an 11-member development team from its Raleigh Solution Center. The team included a project manager/UX developer, UI developer, QA lead/Scrum Master, and eight Java/JavaScript developers. Working in Agile sprints, the team delivered monthly releases, integrated GitHub Ticketing to streamline communication, and adapted to the client’s evolving requirements.
  • Flexible technology and scalable architecture: Using Java, AngularJS, HTML, CSS, and Oracle, Aditi built an intuitive, responsive platform designed to scale and connect with other critical applications across the service catalog. The dedicated team, iterative releases, and purpose-built application gave the client a more structured foundation for managing service lifecycles.

Business Outcomes

From Manual Governance to a More Connected Lifecycle

The portal became the centerpiece of a broader service lifecycle strategy. What began as an accountability platform evolved into a comprehensive solution for managing the enterprise’s full catalog of services and products.

  • Greater visibility and accountability: The organization gained real-time visibility into service creation and updates, improving oversight and supporting project-manager accountability across the lifecycle.
  • Expanded integration: The platform’s capabilities expanded to support downstream systems, helping align service development with broader business goals and cross-functional initiatives.
  • More focus on value creation: With the new solution in place, product and service managers could focus more on value creation and less on administrative tasks, supporting productivity and collaboration across teams.

What Changed

The organization moved from a fragmented spreadsheet-based process to a centralized web application designed for lifecycle governance. Service creation and updates became more visible, project-manager accountability was strengthened, and the platform expanded to support downstream systems. The Agile delivery approach, monthly releases, and technology stack provided a foundation that could evolve with the client’s service and product catalog.
